What: White-speckled Hermit Crab (Paguristes punticeps),
a Caribbean species -- size: about 3 to 5 in. (8 to 13 cm).

Where: I took this macro photo at Bloody Bay, Little Cayman Island.

    FYI, not all hermit crabs have such wonderful blue eyes. Some are pale green, black, turquoise, etc. But since the critters usually are quite small, sometimes the photographer does not notice the color until having a look at the photo.

    @ Gattina - What an interesting thought: to kiss the critter and see if it turns into a prince. LOL.

    @ Napaboaniya - He wasn't really very big -- it's a macro photo.

    @ SandyCarlson - LOL at 'bell bottoms'
