What: A swarm of Scalefin Anthias (Pseudanthias squamipinnis).
These colorful little fish are ubiquitous on Red Sea reefs.

Where: I took this photo while diving  along a steep dropoff 
at the Brothers Islands, in the middle of the Red Sea.

    Great shot. That's a lot of little fish. Are you ever right in the middle of them or do they kind of keep their distance/

    That's nice. I've had a few opportunities to snorkel and found the underwater worlk to be beautiful.

    @ 2Sweet - Oh yes, there have been occasions when we were in the middle of a swarm of little fish.

    @ Carletta - The beautifully colored things in the middle of the photo are soft corals. That type are very common in the Red Sea.

    @ Lori - Nemo? Hmm, I suppose I should post another clownfish photo soon. Thanks for reminding me. ;-)

    That is certainly a lot of fish. The color effect of so many little bits of orange against the blue is interest, too.

    Beautiful shot! A bit unusual to see your watery photos - since they are taken IN the water and not OF the water! Great colors, and it must be great fun to swim among the fish like that!
