Map of Africa on a fish! Interesting legend.
ReplyDeleteA map? Maybe u should have zoom at the map. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and a very interesting legend and mark.
ReplyDeleteHappy WW to you...
OK, that really looks like somebody slapped a splotch of florescent yellow paint on the side of the fish!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your photos and tidbits of info. This one is no different. :-)
ReplyDeleteNice shot!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first looked at it without reading the note I thought to myself the yellow marking wasn't as neat as I would expect in nature.
Cool. I assume it is an underwater photo?
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting to have a map of Africa on a fish! I wonder which African country though. It sure looks like it's been splashed on the fish. :) Happy WW, Bobbie.
ReplyDeleteI have been to the Red Sea at Eilat, many years ago, and loved the glass tunnel you could walk into to view the fish and coral up close in their natural habitat. I really like this fish, too. Happy Watery Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteHe looks big and mean.
ReplyDeleteA fine finny specimen, map of Africa and all.
ReplyDeleteVery unusual coloring.
ReplyDeleteAt first glance it looks like something out of a disney animation. Great pic and Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCheers!

Another amazing photo. Happy WW
ReplyDeleteWhat I wouldn't give to be swimming along with that beauty!
ReplyDeleteI can kinda see Africa, maybe if I squint a little. Fun story though!
ReplyDeleteYou still have the most amazing water photos!

That is quite a splash of color - neat legend!
ReplyDeleteIt was a wonderful surprise to see underwater photography pop up on my page. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteHa! I wonder how it got on the fish's back.
ReplyDeleteI never would have guessed it, about the map thing. How interesting, and a unique looking fish.
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone. I, too, think the yellow patch looks a little splotchy and irregular, but it does individualize these fishes, as no two are exactly alike.
ReplyDelete@ Michael Bird -- Yes, it is an underwater photo.
@ Leedra -- It is fairly big, but not mean -- actually quite shy.
@ Scienceguy -- It's a design plotted by genetic info, of course -- just like the patterns on cows, and pinto ponies, and dogs, and cats, and... (You actually knew that, right?)
Bobbie
thats an interesting looking fish
