Hello again, thanks for stopping by. To answer your question about one of the photos I posted, the sign is for boaters, It is too far off shore to see. We were on a boat tour ourselves. There were also similar sized signs warning boaters to be aware that manatees were in the area, though we were never fortunate enough to see one. Just as well for the manatees as there seemed to be some fast moving boats around. Ours was a pretty slow chuggalong, which made for a more enjoyable ride.

@ Will -- I "picked up all the knowledge" over the course of many, many years of diving and being around critters in the ocean -- and taking the time, and making the effort, to find out as much as I can about them. And you have just given me a good idea for a future post!

@ ZJ - I saw your post even before you mentioned it here -- and I very nearly fell off my chair. Emulating Bobbie? My goodness, how flattering! (And you did a super-duper job with that shark photo!)
@ CatSynth -- Yes, it was a little guy -- maybe 18 inches long (although I didn't measure...) Not a newborn, but definitely a young one, which is probably why it was trying to hide beneath that coral.
Several people commented that they would not have liked to be that close to this shark. Trust me when I say that although I was a mere foot or two away from the shark, taking this photo put me in virtually no danger. In fact, the danger that sharks pose to divers is minimal in most circumstances. Perhaps I should write a post about that, too!
