You name the place and I think how in the deep there is no need for politics and boundaries. It's all silly. This is a beautiful photo, as usual. Thanks for taking us there!
You guys are so cool! lol I mean, really, I like taking pictures with my cheap underwater camera and I think they look pretty cool and then I see yours! Needless to say, I will not be sharing any of my photos with you guys! Hah! Awesome picture!
Thanks, everyone, for your visits and for your feedback. Much appreciated.
@ Will - Great minds think alike?
@ Pamela - I hate to confirm your suspicions, but you DID miss out!
@ Randall - Red Sea diving, in particular, is superb. Some other areas of the Middle East are not quite as glorious.
@ Stan - Lake Tahoe is very beautiful to look at from the surface, but a little chilly for us Tropical Models to dive in.
@ Shannon - We have indeed seen sharks at Shark Reef on several occasions.
@ kspinning - If you like underwater photos, this is the place. We hope you come back.
@ Jenn - Re the photos, practice, practice, practice! The more you shoot, the better your photos become. (I promise.)
@ Vixen - Those pretty little fishies are called Scalefin Anthias (Pseudanthias squamipinnis). They look a lot like goldfish and they are abundant in the Red Sea. If you see an underwater photo with lots of those fish, you can almost bet the picture was taken somewhere in the Red Sea.
@ Tink - That's correct information. The whole area is a marine park and shelling is not allowed, period -- including 'empties'. We do have a few shells from elsewhere in the Red Sea, however -- including an 'Arabian Cowrie' (Cypraea arabica). ;-}
Thanks for stopping by! You should definitely go there one day! Cinque Terre is so beautiful. Love your photo! It makes me want to hop on a plane, too! Guess we're even :)
Hi Bobby, I like your Shark Reef 'Jerry swimming picture.' That little dancing red urchin below sure is pretty. Thanks. Thanks too for peeking at my pigs for WW! We are sorta' out of pocket for a bit due to Hurricane Ike. ..
Hey wow, nice to see another u/w photog in the skywatch crowd...I was starting to think I was the only one. You have some great stuff here...we should start our own blog group, "underwater watch Friday".....that would be cool, heh?
I will be checking back...if interested, check out my archives for some of my other underwater stuff...I have posted lots in the past...
This site offers incredible underwater perspectives. I learned to dive in a large pool and look forward to expanding my horizons. Did you ever sense a connection to Atlantis?
@ Scotty - I have seen some of the underwater photography on your site, and I thought the same thing: Nice to see another u/w photographer's work on a blog. If you want to start an underwater photography meme, that would be fun, but I doubt you would find many participants, since we're still a minority among photographers. I participate in Wordless Wednesday -- usually as the only underwater photo. Maybe you should give that one a try.
@ Liara - I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "sensing a connection with Atlantis." If you mean that literally, I would have to say, no. When I am underwater, I am very engaged with the reality of what is right there before my eyes.
You guys really get around. :-) I love the way the light is shining into the water leaving those rays of light. Cool!
ReplyDeleteThe right blue to refresh one's mind :)
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny. I click comment with my first sentence composed in my head and it began "You guys really get around"!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!
Gorgeous shots!
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say other than I am wordless! Beautiful colours as always.
ReplyDeleteI dived once in Puget Sound - but the water was so murky... and I never went again
ReplyDeletethat photo sure makes me think I missed out.
I'd heard that the diving was good in the Middle East. But your images show that was an understatement.
ReplyDeleteVery nice view under water. I really envy you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tones and colours! Love the rays of light...
ReplyDeleteExcept for the coral, it could be our own blue world, Lake Tahoe.
ReplyDeleteWow such a stunning shot. Happy WW
ReplyDeleteIt must be an exhilarating feeling swimming over there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, and practically in the neighborhood, not that I'll be returning to Sinai any time soon with all the warnings out now.
ReplyDeleteYou name the place and I think how in the deep there is no need for politics and boundaries. It's all silly. This is a beautiful photo, as usual. Thanks for taking us there!
ReplyDeleteUmmm...Shark reef, that's just one of those names that screams is really a good idea?
ReplyDeleteDid you see any sharks?
That is a beautiful shot and a very interesting location
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found my blog today. I could look at underwater photos for hours...and probably will now! ;) Beautiful work.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous blues there, that looks like a brilliant environment to shoot in. Makes me a little jealous I have to say.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fabulous shot. I think it's remarkable how you can get such great underwater shots.
ReplyDeleteAmazing as always. What are those reddish fish called ?
ReplyDeleteThis should be in National Geographic!
ReplyDeleteOooo, a delicious blue and deliciously scary, Bobbie! Of course send Jerry out there first! Ha! :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful it looks down there! The colors are so striking and it looks so peaceful swimming with the fish!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the fabulous "fish-eye's view" of somewhere I am never likely to see on my own!
Happy WW!
Oh I love this!!! Great shot...Happy WW. Thanks for stopping by:)
ReplyDeleteI've got a friend who dove there a few years back. He said they told him he could not take any of the empty shells, which was a bummer!

Amazing coral reefs. Hope we can keep those alive for many more years to come and our grand grandchildren to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThat wall is huge and so alive with life - just beautiful!
