Hi Bobbie, Happy WW! Your reef is so wonderful with all those little apperatures (not their real names--I don't know them). It makes me want to learn scuba diving, almost. Thanks for your visit, our lake has nothing this pretty below. ..
Love the light on this one. Can't see the detail, but I'm thinking maybe that's the one we call "branch coral" when we pick up small bits of it on the beach?
Thanks, everyone, for visiting, and for your comments.
Several people mentioned the light in this photo. It was a very sunny day, and the water was very clear. I was not very deep under the surface, but I was positioned below the corals. I was shooting up toward the surface with a wide angle lens (15mm), using the sun as a back-light for the coral.
The branching coral with the sun shining through it is an Acropora species.
The lighting in this one is beautiful. Amazing shot!
ReplyDeleteAmazing nature's work down there too!
ReplyDeleteI am always quite impressed by the shapes and textures of corals. Abstract, but organic at the same time.
ReplyDeleteA lovely cool photo. Don't see anything like that out here in the desert. The closest blue thing we have is Lake Tahoe.
ReplyDeleteAlways look forward to your beautiful shots. This one is definitely not a let-down. Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!!
It's like a whole other world.
