WW #43 - Scenes from The Right Blue's first year

Not-Quite-Wordless, Special Tuesday/Wednesday Edition

This is Part 2 of our year-end blog birthday review here on The Right Blue. Last week we displayed some of our favorite underwater photos of creatures that live in the sea. This week we are featuring some of our favorite underwater scenery shots from the past year. All of these have appeared as illustrations to our articles over the past year, but have not appeared before as Wordless Wednesday images.

We know that some Wordless Wednesday visitors only come to see the images, not the articles, but just in case you'd like to read the stories, too, we're including a link to the article where each photo first appeared. We hope you enjoy these photos -- all of which are Bobbie's original work.

Please leave a comment to tell us which one you like the best.

  5. Thank you all for the nice compliments -- but no one picked a favorite yet!

@ Ryanne -- All of my underwater photos are taken with dedicated underwater camera equipment, made by Nikon.

  6. Hi Bobbie... as always, your pictures leave me in awe :) I love the second photo - it looks as if it's trying to reach out to the sunlight and bask in it.

  12. Those are great. I especially like the 4th one down.

Looks like we are having fall all summer here in the arctic. I really shouldn't complain...you know how I hate to sweat.

  16. Another wonderful collection for your year-end review.

The coral textures and geometry are great. And those first photos make me think about getting to spend some time underwater myself...

  20. So beautiful. Happy sigh... I think my favorite shot is the one of the sea fan.

PS In answer to your terrazzo question on my blog - it is in fact terrazzo. It's the (very leaky not particularly attractive and too expensive to replace so we're stuck resealing it next week) floor of our roof patio.

  27. I like the composition of the third photo, and the sun shining over the coral that suggests a desert scene, giving the photo a surprise aspect.
I also like the colourful, populated fire coral photo.

  28. I think "Name that reef" is my personal favorite. Although they're all beautiful. :D

  29. Love them all, especially the wreck dive. I've only had the thrill of diving a wreck one time in my life, a tanker which struck an uncharted reef just outside the harbor in Mahe, Seychelles.

  31. Hi Bobbie, you guys are doing sooooo good with your adventure(s).
I am glad you told what to look for in a Caribbean reefscape. We are booked on the Queen Mary II in January for a Southern Caribbean cruise.
I don't scuba, but if we do a submarine ride I may have had a preview from your posts. Thank you.

Happy WW, thanks for the visit to my WW! I am trusting you watched where you stepped.
