  1. Here's a Happy New Year postcard to our readers from one of the most physically beautiful places on the planet: New Zealand's Fiordland.

I took this photo several days ago. We were driving along on the road between the little town of Te Anau and Milford Sound on the Firodland coast. I could not resist to stop and take a photo of the wildflowers -- Mountain Lupines -- with the snowcapped mountains in the background. Hope it brings good thoughts to everyone. We wish everyone a happy and healthy 2008. We'll be back home soon!

  15. Happy Holidays, I hope you are still enjoying your Kiwi adventures. NZ has been on my list of must see before I die places for a long time. Looking at your pictures just makes me even more determined. What beautiful scenery.
The lupines make me a bit home sick for Texas and bluebonnets (another lupine) which turn entire fields denim blue every spring.
